We get up early and get ready to be picked up for the Blue Lagoon. I had done zero research on the Blue Lagoon, just that we had to go there... It was incredible.
Once we had showered and got in our bathing suits, we headed out to the main area. I don't think I can really describe how awesome it was. I was glad I hadn't looked it up so that the colors and everything were a total surprise. As Kate kept saying, it was like watching a movie and having no idea what it was about beforehand. It made everything that much more exciting.
With the air a bit chilly getting into the Lagoon felt amazing. The water was 98 degrees or something close to that and felt like silk. That's the only way I can think to describe it. We do our facemasks and enjoy a glass of wine while relaxing. I didn't want to leave. Ever.
We had a booked tours for the rest of the day around to the surrounding natural sights which was good and bad. Good because otherwise I'm not sure we would have left the lagoon and bad because we really only had just over an hour in the lagoon. I definitely want to go back even if it is super touristy.
From there we basically toured the major geological sites of Iceland from the tectonic plates to the HUGE waterfall. Everything looked like a desktop screensaver. I know my pictures won't do it justice but I try anyway.
Once back to Reykjavik, we head to the Tapas restaurant. IT WAS AMAZING. Seriously some of the best food I've ever had in my entire life. I ate enough for 3 people. I'm sure of it. From there we meet up our bartender friend and have a great night.
